Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Ground beef
  • 6 Slices of rye bread
  • ½ tsp. Onion powder
  • ½ tsp. Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 Slices of cheddar cheese
  • 6 Slices of provolone cheese
  • 6 Tbsp. Unsalted butter, softened

For the secret sauce:

  • ¼ cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp. Chopped bacon pieces
  • 3 Tbsp. Ketchup
  • 1 tsp. Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Relish

Instructions:

  1. Begin by shaping the ground beef into 3 flattened patties, matching the size of your bread slices.
  2. Season the patties with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper on both sides.
  3. Cook the patties over medium-high heat until fully cooked, then set them aside.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients for the secret sauce until well blended.
  5. Clean the skillet used for cooking the patties and reduce the heat to medium.
  6. Spread butter generously on one side of each bread slice.
  7. Place three bread slices, buttered side down, in the skillet.
  8. Top each bread slice with 2 slices of provolone cheese, a cooked meat patty, and 2 slices of cheddar cheese.
  9. Spread a layer of the secret sauce on the non-buttered side of the remaining bread slices, then place them sauce side down on top of the assembled patties in the skillet.
  10. Once the provolone cheese has melted and one side of the bread is toasted, flip the patties over.
  11. Toast the other side of the bread until golden brown, then serve immediately.
