  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 can Cream of Chicken soup
  • 1/4 cup water

How To Make Mom’s Butter Baked Chicken

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Begin by pouring a small amount of evaporated milk into a shallow dish, enough to coat the chicken breasts.

Dip each chicken breast into the milk, then dredge it in a mixture of flour, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

Melt the butter in a 13×9 inch baking dish and place the coated chicken breasts in the melted butter.

Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

While the chicken is baking, prepare the sauce by mixing together the Cream of Chicken soup, water, and any remaining evaporated milk.

After 30 minutes of baking, turn the chicken breasts over and pour the soup mixture evenly over them.

Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
