Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions
Ingredients:
- 750g Beef (tenderloin or rump steak)
- 250g white basmati rice
- 3 medium onions
- 4 sprigs of cilantro
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 4 tbsp. peanut oil
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- Salt
- Ground pepper
Preparation Steps:
- Peel and slice the onions. Wash, dry, and thinly slice the cilantro.
- Cut the beef into strips and place it in a deep dish. Spread the sliced onions over the beef.
- Drizzle with soy sauce, peanut oil, water, sprinkle with pepper and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for 20 minutes in the fridge.
- Cook rice according to packet instructions.
- Heat two tablespoons of oil in a wok or large skillet. SautΓ© the beef in small batches for 2 minutes. Remove the beef from the wok.
- Pour a tablespoon of oil and sautΓ© the onions for 5 minutes. Pour in the marinade juice and bring to a boil.
- Add the beef, salt, pepper, and cook for 2 minutes.
- Place the rice in bowls. Divide the beef with onions among the plates.
- Drizzle with sauce and garnish with cilantro sprigs. Serve hot.
