Classic Southern Fried Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 4 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, thoroughly combine the beaten eggs and milk.
  2. In a large plastic bag, mix together the flour, garlic salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, and paprika.
  3. Place the chicken pieces into the bag, seal it, and shake until the chicken is evenly coated with the flour mixture.
  4. Dredge each flour-coated chicken piece in the egg mixture, ensuring it’s thoroughly coated, then coat it once again in the flour mixture.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet to 365 degrees Fahrenheit (185 degrees Celsius). Carefully add the chicken pieces, frying until golden brown on all sides.
  6. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking the chicken for an additional 30 minutes or until it’s cooked through.
  7. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
