Milk Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon dry yeast
  • 2 cups milk, at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 6 cups bread flour

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast.
  2. Add milk, sugar, salt, and softened butter to the yeast mixture.
  3. Stir until well combined.
  4. Gradually add 4 cups of bread flour to the mixture.
  5. Knead the dough for 10 minutes on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rest for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Punch down the dough to release air bubbles.
  8. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
  9. Divide the dough into 2 equal parts.
  10. Shape each part into a loaf and place them in greased loaf pans. Let them rest for 45 minutes.
  11. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the loaves for 40 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
