Milk Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon dry yeast
- 2 cups milk, at room temperature
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons softened butter
- 6 cups bread flour
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast.
- Add milk, sugar, salt, and softened butter to the yeast mixture.
- Stir until well combined.
- Gradually add 4 cups of bread flour to the mixture.
- Knead the dough for 10 minutes on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rest for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough to release air bubbles.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 2 equal parts.
- Shape each part into a loaf and place them in greased loaf pans. Let them rest for 45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the loaves for 40 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
