Ingredients:

  • Β½ lb. thick-cut bacon, cut into pieces
  • Β½ lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) chili beans (don’t drain)
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained
  • β…” cup A.1. Sauce
  • Β½ cup brown sugar
  • β…“ cup HEINZ Ketchup
  • ΒΌ cup apple cider vinegar
  • Β½ tsp cumin
  • ΒΌ tsp red pepper flakes
  • ΒΌ tsp black pepper
  • ΒΌ tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions:

  1. Start by cooking up the bacon in a large skillet until it’s nice and crispy. Once done, transfer it to a plate lined with paper towels to drain off the excess grease, reserving about 2 tablespoons of bacon grease in the skillet.
  2. Add the ground beef and diced onion to the skillet with the bacon grease. Cook until the beef is no longer pink and the onions are tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Transfer the cooked beef mixture, crispy bacon, and all the other ingredients to the slow cooker. Stir well to combine.
  4. Set your slow cooker to LOW and let the flavors mingle for 3 to 4 hours, or if you’re in a hurry, set it to HIGH and cook for 1 to 2 hours instead, stirring occasionally.
  5. Once done, give the beans a final taste test and adjust the seasoning if needed.
