Mom’s Legendary Cream Puffs
Ingredients:
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 cup of water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
Mom’s Signature Filling:
- 1 pint of heavy cream
- 1 package (3.4 ounces) of instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1/3 cup of milk
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, bring water, butter, and vanilla extract to a boil.
- Add flour to the boiling mixture and stir constantly until it forms a ball and leaves the sides of the pot. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until the mixture is smooth.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto parchment-lined cookie sheets, making 8 large ones. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 40 minutes.
- (Pro tip: After baking, poke each puff with a toothpick and return them to the oven with it turned off, cracking the door open slightly to prevent deflating.)
- Allow the cream puffs to cool completely.
- Slice each puff in half and fill with Mom’s special filling using a piping bag or scoop.
- Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate.

In a mixer, beat heavy cream, instant vanilla pudding mix, and milk together until thick.
