Potato, Chorizo, Tomato, and Béchamel Gratin Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 200 g chorizo, sliced
  • 200 g tomatoes, sliced
  • 200 g grated cheese (Gruyère, Emmental, etc.)
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g flour
  • 500 ml milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Prepare the Béchamel Sauce:
    • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Add the flour and stir continuously to form a roux.
    • Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
    • Simmer until the sauce thickens, then season with salt and pepper.
  3. Assemble the Gratin:
    • Butter a gratin dish.
    • Layer the potato slices, chorizo, and tomatoes alternately in the dish.
    • Pour the béchamel sauce evenly over the layers.
  4. Add Cheese and Spices:
    • Sprinkle the grated cheese on top.
    • Add a dash of paprika if you prefer a bit of spice.
  5. Bake:
    • Place the gratin in the oven and bake for 45-50 minutes.
    • The dish is ready when the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  6. Serve: Serve the gratin hot and enjoy!
