Delicious Soft Pastry Recipe 🤤

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 egg (reserve yolk for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour

For the Filling:

  • 3-4 potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • Chopped parsley

For the Topping:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine milk, water, yeast, and sugar. Stir until yeast is dissolved. Add oil and the egg (excluding the yolk), mix well.
  2. Gradually add flour and salt, kneading until a soft dough forms. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
  3. For the filling, mix mashed potatoes with butter, salt, milk, and chopped parsley until smooth.
  4. Punch down the risen dough and divide into 3 equal portions. Roll out each portion into a square shape.
  5. Spread the potato filling evenly over each dough square. Roll up each square tightly into a log.
  6. Cut each log into pieces using a dough cutter.
  7. Place the shaped pastries on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  8. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  9. Mix the egg yolk and milk for the topping, then brush it over the pastries.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
