Beef Stew Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds beef stew meat, diced
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon raw sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 4 large carrots, peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces
- 3 stalks celery, sliced
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix
Instructions:
- Brown the diced beef stew meat in olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes. Transfer the meat to a slow cooker.
- Add 2 cups of water to the slow cooker along with Worcestershire sauce, garlic, bay leaves, onion, salt, sugar, black pepper, smoked paprika, turmeric, onion powder, and ground cloves. Stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours, until the beef is tender.
- 45 minutes before serving, in a small bowl, mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup cold water until dissolved. Stir the cornstarch mixture and the Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix into the slow cooker.
- Continue cooking on high for an additional 30-45 minutes, until the stew thickens slightly.
- Remove bay leaves before serving. Enjoy your delicious beef stew!
