Membership Update and Delicious Milk Bread Recipe

Milk Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500 g wheat flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g sugar
  • 12 g fresh yeast
  • 4 g salt
  • 2 eggs

Preparation:

  1. In a medium bowl, dissolve the yeast and 10 grams of sugar in warm milk. Let the mixture rest in a warm place until it begins to ferment.
  2. In a large bowl, sift the flour and combine it with the yeast mixture, eggs, remaining sugar, and salt. Knead until the mixture is well-integrated and smooth.
  3. Incorporate the diced butter at room temperature and continue kneading until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. Shape it into a ball, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 90 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  4. Divide the dough into approximately 50-gram portions and shape them into ovals or “torpedo” forms. Place them on a baking tray and cover with a kitchen towel. Allow them to rest for about 30 minutes.
  5. Brush the buns with an egg glaze (1 yolk mixed with 15 ml of milk) and make 2 or 3 shallow cuts across the top with a sharp knife.
  6. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) for about 10 minutes.
  7. Bake the milk bread for 20 to 30 minutes, or until they achieve a dark golden color. Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack.
