These French toast roll-ups make a delightful twist on a classic breakfast favorite. Crispy on the outside, with a warm, gooey Nutella filling, they’re a perfect treat for brunch or a sweet snack.

Ingredients:

  • Sandwich bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 1 egg
  • 100 ml milk
  • 40 g sugar
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Nutella (or any chocolate hazelnut spread)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Bread: Trim the crusts off each slice of bread for a smoother roll.
  2. Flatten: Using a rolling pin, gently roll each slice to about 1/8-inch thickness.
  3. Add Filling: Spread a thin layer of Nutella over each slice, then roll them up tightly.
  4. Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
  5. Coat the Roll-Ups: Dip each roll-up in the egg mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated, then roll it in a mix of cinnamon and sugar.
  6. Air Fry: Arrange the roll-ups in an air fryer basket, leaving space between each one. Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
