Ingredients for 8 servings:
- 500 grams of all-purpose flour
- 1 packet of active dry yeast
- 2 eggs
- 224 milliliters of milk
- 2 pinches of salt
- 100 grams of unsalted butter
- 40 grams of granulated sugar
- Homemade pastry cream
- 1 large handful of raisins
Instructions for Preparing Artisanal Grape Bread:
- Activate the yeast by dissolving it in warm milk. Combine the yeast-milk mixture with flour and sugar in a mixing bowl. Add the eggs and mix thoroughly using an electric mixer.
- Incorporate the salt once all ingredients are well combined. Gradually add the butter while continuing to mix for approximately fifteen minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Lightly flour a work surface or a board. Transfer the dough onto the floured surface. Shape it into a ball and cover it with a clean cloth, allowing it to rest for 30 minutes.
- After the resting period, roll out the dough into a rectangle, gently stretching it to maintain an even thickness. Spread homemade pastry cream evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with raisins.
- Roll up the dough tightly, folding in the edges as you go to seal the filling inside. Press gently to seal the seam. Cut the rolled dough into 4-inch pieces using kitchen scissors.
- Arrange the pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each roll. Cover with a clean cloth and let them rise for 35 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). Lightly beat an egg and brush it over the tops of the rolls for a golden finish.
