Baked Cream Cheese French Toast Casserole is a delicious and easy breakfast dish.

  • 1 loaf of brioche or challah bread, cut into cubes
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
  • Fresh berries, for serving (optional)
  • Maple syrup, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  3. In a large bowl, gently mix the bread cubes and softened cream cheese.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and cream cheese, gently folding to ensure all the bread is soaked.
  6. Allow the mixture to sit for at least 15 minutes, or cover and refrigerate overnight.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, until golden brown and set in the center.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  10. If desired, dust the top with powdered sugar.
  11. Cut into squares and serve warm with fresh berries and maple syrup.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, refrigerate overnight before baking.
  • Feel free to add nuts or chocolate chips for extra taste.
