- 1 loaf of brioche or challah bread, cut into cubes
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
- Fresh berries, for serving (optional)
- Maple syrup, for serving (optional)
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, gently mix the bread cubes and softened cream cheese.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread and cream cheese, gently folding to ensure all the bread is soaked.
- Allow the mixture to sit for at least 15 minutes, or cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, until golden brown and set in the center.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
