Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of store-bought croissant dough (8 croissants)
  • 8 slices of ham (thinly sliced)
  • 8 slices of cheese (Swiss, cheddar, or your choice)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)
  • Optional: Dijon mustard (for added flavor)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the package of croissant dough on a clean, flat surface. Separate the triangles.
  3. Place a slice of ham on each triangle of dough.
  4. Layer a slice of cheese over the ham. If desired, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the ham.
  5. Sprinkle freshly cracked black pepper on top of the cheese for added flavor.
  6. Starting from the wide end, roll the dough towards the point, forming a croissant shape. Pinch the edges to seal.
  7. Place the rolled croissants on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
  8. Brush the tops of the croissants with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the croissants are golden brown and puffed.
  10. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
