- 1 package of store-bought croissant dough (8 croissants)
- 8 slices of ham (thinly sliced)
- 8 slices of cheese (Swiss, cheddar, or your choice)
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- Freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)
- Optional: Dijon mustard (for added flavor)
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the package of croissant dough on a clean, flat surface. Separate the triangles.
- Place a slice of ham on each triangle of dough.
- Layer a slice of cheese over the ham. If desired, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the ham.
- Sprinkle freshly cracked black pepper on top of the cheese for added flavor.
- Starting from the wide end, roll the dough towards the point, forming a croissant shape. Pinch the edges to seal.
- Place the rolled croissants on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
- Brush the tops of the croissants with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the croissants are golden brown and puffed.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
