Easy Baked Italian Meatballs: An Incredible Ultimate Recipe

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, basil, eggs, garlic, salt, black pepper, oregano, thyme, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  3. Using your hands, mix the ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in size.
  4. Arrange the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced evenly apart.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the meatballs are browned and cooked through.
  6. To ensure they are fully cooked, the internal temperature should reach 160°F (70°C).
  7. Once cooked, remove the meatballs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving with marinara sauce.
