Caprese Salad with Balsamic Glaze is a refreshing dish that combines the flavors of fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.

  • 4 ripe tomatoes (heirloom or vine-ripened)
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese (preferably buffalo mozzarella)
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • ¼ cup balsamic glaze
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash the tomatoes under cold water. Slice them into thick slices, about ½ inch each.
  2. Cut the fresh mozzarella into similar-sized slices as the tomatoes.
  3. On a serving platter, alternate layers of tomato slices, mozzarella slices, and basil leaves. You can create a circular pattern or simply stack them.
  4. Once the layers are arranged, drizzle extra-virgin olive oil over the top.
  5. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the salad, allowing it to coat the ingredients beautifully.
