Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions

Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions

Ingredients:

  • 750g Beef (tenderloin or rump steak)
  • 250g white basmati rice
  • 3 medium onions
  • 4 sprigs of cilantro
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp. peanut oil
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch
  • Salt
  • Ground pepper

Preparation Steps:

  1. Peel and slice the onions. Wash, dry, and thinly slice the cilantro.
  2. Cut the beef into strips and place it in a deep dish. Spread the sliced onions over the beef.
  3. Drizzle with soy sauce, peanut oil, water, sprinkle with pepper and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for 20 minutes in the fridge.
  4. Cook rice according to packet instructions.
  5. Heat two tablespoons of oil in a wok or large skillet. Sauté the beef in small batches for 2 minutes. Remove the beef from the wok.
  6. Pour a tablespoon of oil and sauté the onions for 5 minutes. Pour in the marinade juice and bring to a boil.
  7. Add the beef, salt, pepper, and cook for 2 minutes.
  8. Place the rice in bowls. Divide the beef with onions among the plates.
  9. Drizzle with sauce and garnish with cilantro sprigs. Serve hot.
