- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Mix in the baking soda and salt until well combined.
- Add the sugar and mix until fully integrated.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gently mix in the flour until just combined. Do not overmix.
- If desired, fold in the chopped nuts and/or chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let the bread cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
