Classic Banana Nut Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 4 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a standard loaf pan or prepare mini loaf pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs until well combined, then stir in the mashed bananas.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the vanilla extract and chopped nuts until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan(s), spreading it out evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour for a standard loaf, or 35 to 45 minutes for mini loaves, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Slice and enjoy this classic banana nut bread warm or at room temperature.
