Creamed Potatoes and Peas Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs red potatoes, boiled
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 10 oz. frozen peas
  • ½ cup onion, diced
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Halve the boiled red potatoes and arrange them on a greased baking sheet.
  3. Evenly distribute the frozen peas over the potatoes.
  4. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, salt, and pepper to create a roux.
  5. Gradually add the milk and evaporated milk, stirring continuously until the sauce reaches the desired consistency.
  6. Pour the sauce over the potatoes and peas, ensuring they are well-coated.
  7. Sprinkle the diced onion and crumbled bacon on top of the vegetables.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dish is bubbly and the top is lightly browned.
