Crispy Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tenders

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of chicken tenders
  • 1 cup of buttermilk
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Canola oil for frying

Instructions:

In a medium-sized bowl, marinate the chicken tenders in buttermilk, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least an hour, or ideally overnight, to tenderize the meat and infuse flavor.

In a shallow dish, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to ensure even seasoning.

Heat enough canola oil in a heavy-bottomed pan or Dutch oven over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C). The oil should be about 1 inch deep in the pan for proper frying.

Remove the chicken tenders from the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off, and dredge them in the seasoned flour mixture until evenly coated.

Carefully place the coated chicken tenders into the hot oil, being cautious to avoid splattering. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they achieve a golden brown color and are cooked through.

Once cooked, transfer the chicken tenders to a plate lined with paper towels to drain off excess oil.

Serve the hot and crispy chicken tenders with your preferred dipping sauces or alongside your favorite sides. Enjoy this delicious dish with friends and family!
