Crispy Fried Garlic Hot Wings

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, tips removed, drumettes and flats separated
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place the chicken wings in another bowl and pour the buttermilk over them, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the wings from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge them in the flour mixture until fully coated.
  5. Fry the wings in batches, taking care not to overcrowd the pan. Cook until golden brown and crispy, approximately 10 minutes per side.
  6. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in the hot sauce, honey, and vinegar until well combined.
  7. Toss the fried wings in the garlic hot sauce mixture until evenly coated.
  8. Serve the wings hot.
