Learn how to make decadent chocolate chip blondies with this easy-to-follow recipe. These rich, buttery, and chewy blondies are a delightful alternative to brownies and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, pecans or walnuts work great)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy lifting after baking.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Finally, mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  7. Pour the blondie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly into the corners.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (but not wet batter).
  9. Remove from the oven and let the blondies cool in the pan on a wire rack for about 10-15 minutes.
  10. Lift the parchment paper to remove from the pan and let them cool completely before cutting into squares.
  11. Enjoy these rich and buttery blondies as a delightful treat on their own or warm them up with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!

Notes

  • Ensure your eggs and butter are at room temperature for best results.
  • Do not overmix the batter after adding the flour to prevent tough blondies.
  • For extra chocolatey blondies, you can add more chocolate chips or use a mix of chocolate chip types.
  • If you don’t have parchment paper, you can grease and flour the pan well.
