½ cup sliced pepperoni (or your favorite pizza toppings)
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning.
In a large oven-safe skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Pour the marinara sauce over the seared chicken, ensuring they are well coated.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the chicken. Add the sliced pepperoni or any other preferred toppings.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
Slice the chicken and serve hot, drizzled with additional marinara sauce if preferred.
