Epic Beef Nacho Supreme: A Must-Have Recipe
Epic Beef Nacho Supreme: A Must-Have Recipe
Ingredients
- Taco Seasoning: Use homemade or one packet/serving of store-bought taco seasoning.
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 yellow onion, diced
- 2 bags tortilla chips (16 ounces each)
- 1 can refried beans
- 16 ounces shredded cheese of choice (cheddar and Monterey jack recommended)
- 3 Roma tomatoes, diced
- 2 to 3 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).
- Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and diced onions until fully cooked, about 8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Season the Beef: Return the beef to the skillet, sprinkle on the taco seasoning, and stir in 3/4 cup of water. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat and simmer until most of the liquid has evaporated, about 5 minutes.
- Prepare the Baking Sheets: While the beef is cooking, line two baking sheets with parchment paper and spread a generous layer of tortilla chips on each.
- Add Refried Beans: Spoon the refried beans over the chips on both baking sheets. The beans are thick, so place spoonfuls across the chipsβthey will spread as they heat in the oven.
- Add Beef and Cheese: Divide the seasoned ground beef evenly between the two baking sheets, spooning it over the chips and beans. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously on top.
- Bake: Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with diced tomatoes and sliced green onions. Serve hot and enjoy!
