Exquisite and Flavorful Classic Steak Diane
Ingredients:
- 4 beef tenderloin steaks (approximately 6 ounces each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup brandy or cognac
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Directions:
Prepare the Steaks:
- Season the beef tenderloin steaks generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the steaks to the skillet, cooking for approximately 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your preferred level of doneness is reached. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set them aside to rest.
Make the Sauce:
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the finely chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Carefully pour in the brandy or cognac, allowing it to simmer for about 1-2 minutes to slightly reduce.
- Stir in the beef broth, heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce has thickened.
Combine and Serve:
- Return the steaks to the skillet, spooning the rich sauce over them.
- Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to ensure the steaks are heated through.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
- Serve the Steak Diane hot, generously drizzled with the luxurious sauce. Pair with your favorite sides for an elegant and delightful dining experience.
