1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
Rinse the green beans under cold water and trim the ends.
Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add a pinch of salt for flavor.
Once boiling, add the green beans and cook for 3-4 minutes until just tender.
Prepare a bowl of ice water. After blanching, transfer the green beans to the ice bath to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for a few minutes, then drain.
