- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips (plus extra for decoration)
- 1 cup sprinkles (optional)
- Begin by softening the unsalted butter and large eggs to room temperature.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together unbleached all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
- In a stand mixer, cream together softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the room-temperature eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
