- 4 cups fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup French fried onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for about 5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well blended.
- Add the cooked green beans to the soup mixture and stir to coat the beans evenly.
- Gently fold in half of the French fried onions into the mixture for added crunch and flavor.
- Pour the green bean mixture into a greased 2-quart casserole dish, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining French fried onions on top of the casserole.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the onions are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
