2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
1 can (10 oz) diced green chilies
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
1 cup crushed tortilla chips
1 tablespoon taco seasoning
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, combine the cooked, shredded chicken, diced green chilies, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, taco seasoning, chopped onion, garlic powder, and half of the shredded cheese. Mix until well combined.
Add salt and pepper to taste, ensuring the mixture is flavorful.
Lightly grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared casserole dish.
Sprinkle the crushed tortilla chips evenly over the chicken mixture.
Add the remaining shredded cheese on top of the tortilla chips.
Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Once done, remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
