Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Pie Crusts (homemade or store-bought, ensure it’s cold)
  • ½ cup Pumpkin Puree
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground Cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 Egg (divided)
  • ¾ cup Cherry Pie Filling
  • ¾ cup Blueberry Pie Filling
  • ½ cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy Whipping Cream

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, ground cinnamon, and the egg yolk. Stir until smooth and set aside.
  2. On a clean, floured surface, roll out your pie crusts to about ⅛ to ¼ inch thick. Use a sharp knife or cookie cutter to cut out shapes like pumpkins, ghosts, and mummies. Aim for 12 pumpkins, 12 ghosts, and 4 mummies.
  3. Take the cut-out dough shapes and begin filling them. For pumpkins, place a spoonful of pumpkin filling on half the shapes, cover with another, and crimp the edges to seal. For ghosts, fill with blueberry pie filling, pinch shut, and cut out eyes and mouths. For mummies, fill with cherry filling, crimp the edges, and add strips of leftover dough to create bandages.
  4. Place the assembled Halloween hand pies in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). After chilling, brush the tops with egg wash. Bake for 15 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
  5. While the Halloween hand pies are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and heavy whipping cream in a small bowl until smooth. Once the pies are out of the oven and have cooled slightly, brush the glaze over the top. Add candy eyes to mummies for a fun finishing touch. Allow to cool completely before serving.
