Ham & White Beans
Ingredients
- 1 lb package of dried Northern beans
- Ham bone, hocks, shanks, or diced ham (approximately 1 pound)
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 6 cups water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Rinse and sort the beans to remove any pebbles or debris.
- Place the rinsed beans, onion powder, salt, pepper, and ham into the crock pot.
- Add the water.
- Cover and cook on low for about 8 hours, or until the beans are tender.
- Remove the ham bone, shanks, or hocks, and shred the meat.
- Return the shredded meat to the crock pot and stir well.
- Serve hot with cornbread.
