Heavenly Milk Brioche – The Ultimate Fluffy and Soft Delight 😋

Ingredients:

  • 150 ml (2/3 cup) warm milk
  • 7 g instant yeast
  • 15 g (1 tbsp) flour (for activating yeast)
  • 20 g (1 tbsp + 1 tsp) softened butter
  • 1 egg
  • 15 g (1 tbsp) sugar
  • 330 g (2 5/8 cups) flour
  • 3 g (1/2 tsp) salt
  • 5 g (1 tsp) butter (for greasing)
  • 1 egg yolk (for brushing)

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine warm milk, instant yeast, and sugar. Whisk thoroughly, then add a tablespoon of flour and let the mixture rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Incorporate an egg and softened butter into the mixture, stirring until homogeneous.
  3. In a large bowl, sift flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture, mixing with a spatula. Knead the dough with your hands until it becomes elastic.
  4. Shape the dough into a ball and cover the bowl with a kitchen cloth or plastic wrap. Allow the dough to rise for two hours in a warm place.
  5. Transfer the risen dough onto a lightly floured surface and divide it into 5 parts (2 smaller and 3 larger ones).
  6. Form each piece into a ball. Cover the milk brioche balls with a kitchen cloth or plastic wrap and let them rest for 15 minutes.
  7. Take one ball and flatten it into a thin oval. Roll it up from the longest side and place it in a greased baking pan.
  8. Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls. Let them rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 180°C/360°F.
  10. Lightly brush the top of the risen bread with egg yolk and bake at 180°C/360°F for 15 minutes.
  11. Enjoy the heavenly goodness of your milk brioche!
