Ingredients
Scale
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
¾ cup warm water (about 110°F)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup pizza sauce
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
6 ounces sliced salami
Optional toppings: bell peppers, olives, mushrooms, onions
Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes until doubled.
During the last 10 minutes of rising, preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
Grease individual pizza pans with olive oil.
Punch down dough, divide into 4 equal portions, shape into balls, and flatten into discs.
Spread pizza sauce on each dough disc, leaving edges clear.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over sauce. Layer salami and any desired toppings.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
Remove from oven, let rest briefly. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Slice and enjoy your individual salami pizzas while warm.
