  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onions
  • 2 cups instant rice
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 pound smoked sausage
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Cut the smoked sausage into chunky pieces around ½ inch thick and brown them in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add all the other ingredients: water, ground black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, dried minced onions, instant rice, sea salt, frozen peas, and Dijon mustard. Mix well.
  3. Bring the mixture to a bubble over medium-high heat.
  4. Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the rice is soft and most of the liquid has evaporated.
