- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef or turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Using your hands, shape the mixture into mini meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs, ensuring they are well coated.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the meatballs and sauce.
- Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
