A rich, decadent Molten Chocolate Crackle Pie with a gooey, flowing center and a delightful crackly top. This easy-to-make dessert is perfect for satisfying chocolate cravings and impressing guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the chocolate chips and unsalted butter. Heat on low until melted, stirring frequently.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and whisk in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gently fold in the flour and salt until no floury pockets remain, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour the chocolate batter into the prepared pie dish, spreading it evenly.
  7. Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. The edges should look set, while the center remains soft and slightly underbaked.
  8. Allow the pie to cool in the dish for about 10 minutes; this will help the molten center settle slightly.
  9. If desired, dust the top of the pie with powdered sugar for an elegant presentation.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
  • Monitor baking time closely, as oven temperatures can vary.
  • Serve the pie warm for the optimal molten center experience.
  • Consider adding espresso powder or sea salt for enhanced flavor.
