Ingredients

  • 2 packs of plain petit beurre biscuits
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 100g dark chocolate
  • 250ml heavy cream
  • 200g dark chocolate (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Biscuits: Break the petit beurre biscuits into small pieces by hand and set them aside.
  2. Prepare the Cream Mixture: In a suitable saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and cocoa powder. Mix well and bring to a boil, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Once thickened, add 100g of dark chocolate and stir until fully melted and incorporated.
  3. Combine Biscuits and Cream: Pour the prepared cream mixture over the broken biscuits. Mix thoroughly to ensure all biscuit pieces are coated.
  4. Mold the Cake: Transfer the biscuit mixture into a mold, using a spatula to smooth the surface evenly.
  5. Prepare the Chocolate Topping: In a separate bowl, heat the heavy cream until hot but not boiling. Add 200g of dark chocolate to the hot cream, stirring until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Pour this chocolate ganache over the molded biscuit mixture, spreading it evenly.
  6. Refrigerate: Place the mold in the refrigerator and chill for at least 6 hours to allow the cake to set.
  7. Serve: Once set, remove the cake from the mold, slice, and serve.
