Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large sub rolls
  • 1 cup sliced salami
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 cup sliced ham
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup roasted red peppers, sliced
  • ½ cup sliced olives (black or green)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice each sub roll in half lengthwise, without cutting all the way through.
  3. Brush the inside of each sub roll lightly with olive oil.
  4. Layer the sliced salami at the bottom of each roll, followed by the pepperoni and ham.
  5. Place slices of roasted red peppers evenly over the meat layers.
  6. Generously sprinkle the provolone and mozzarella cheese over the peppers.
  7. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the cheese.
  8. Distribute the sliced olives evenly on top of the cheese.
  9. Tightly wrap each sub in aluminum foil.
  10. Place the wrapped subs on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and melted.
  11. Remove the subs from the oven, carefully unwrap the foil, and transfer to a serving platter.
  12. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For best flavor, use fresh deli meats and vegetables.
  • Lightly toast the rolls before adding fillings for extra crunch.
  • Experiment with different spices or toppings like red pepper flakes or fresh oregano.
  • Add spinach or arugula for a fresher taste and added nutrition.
  • For a vegetarian option, replace meats with grilled vegetables like zucchini and eggplant.
  • Add a layer of Alfredo sauce for a creamy Cheesy Alfredo Sub variation.
  • For a Caprese twist, use fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil with balsamic glaze.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze wrapped subs for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge before reheating in the oven.
