- 6–8 large croissants, preferably day-old
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
- 1 cup cooked ham or cooked sausage, diced (optional)
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped (optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
- Cut the croissants into bite-sized pieces and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and whole milk until well combined. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Stir in the shredded cheese and cooked ham or sausage, if using. Add the chopped spinach.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissant pieces.
- Gently press down on the croissant pieces to help them absorb the egg mixture.
- Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) the next morning.
- Remove the plastic wrap and bake the casserole for 30-35 minutes, or until the egg is set and the top is golden brown.
- Allow the casserole to cool for about 5-10 minutes before serving.
- Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs before slicing and serving.
