An Amazing Ultimate Recipe for the Holidays

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • Crushed candy canes, for topping
  • Optional: additional peppermint extract for stronger flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
  5. Add the vanilla extract and peppermint extract, mixing until well combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Gently fold the white chocolate chips into the dough.
  8. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  11. While the cookies are still warm, sprinkle crushed candy canes on top for a festive touch.
