🍝 Homemade Marinara Sauce Recipe 🍅
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (14-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
- In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and cook until softened and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the pan, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste.
- Add the dried basil, dried oregano, dried thyme, sugar, salt, and pepper, and stir to combine.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve hot over cooked spaghetti noodles, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil, if desired.
