Ingredients:
- 2 pounds of assorted chicken pieces (legs, thighs, breasts)
- 1 cup of buttermilk
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional, for added heat)
- Cooking spray
Directions:
- Marinate the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off. Coat each piece thoroughly in the flour mixture, ensuring even coverage.
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (199°C). Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Arrange the chicken pieces in the basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Lightly spray the chicken with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time, until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
