Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of assorted chicken pieces (legs, thighs, breasts)
  • 1 cup of buttermilk
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional, for added heat)
  • Cooking spray

Directions:

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off. Coat each piece thoroughly in the flour mixture, ensuring even coverage.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (199°C). Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  5. Arrange the chicken pieces in the basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Lightly spray the chicken with cooking spray.
  6. Air fry for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time, until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
