A delicious Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli featuring tender roast beef, sauteed vegetables, and provolone cheese baked in a golden-brown crust. This easy recipe is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 frozen white bread loaf (thawed)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 green bell pepper (diced)
  • 1 medium yellow onion (diced)
  • 1 cup mushrooms (thinly sliced)
  • 8 ounces deli roast beef (thinly sliced)
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen white bread loaf in a greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm area until fully thawed and doubled in size, approximately 2 to 3 hours.
  2. Dice the bell pepper and onion, and thinly slice the mushrooms.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the vegetables until softened and lightly browned, about 6 minutes. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with cooking spray.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll the risen dough into a 12 by 18-inch rectangle, ensuring even thickness.
  6. Combine mayonnaise and garlic powder in a small bowl, mixing thoroughly. Spread this mixture evenly across the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  7. Arrange the sliced roast beef evenly over the mayonnaise layer. Distribute the sautéed vegetables on top. Layer the provolone cheese slices to cover everything, overlapping as needed.
  8. Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough like a jelly roll, tucking in any fillings that try to escape. Pinch the seams and ends firmly to seal.
  9. Place the rolled stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  10. Melt the remaining butter and brush generously over the top of the Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli. Sprinkle with garlic salt, sesame seeds, and dried parsley.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  12. Remove the Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli from the oven and allow it to rest for 5 minutes. Slice with a serrated knife and serve warm.
