Professional Recipe: Steak Stir-Fried Ramen
Steak Stir-Fried Ramen
Ingredients:
- 10 oz thinly sliced steak
- 8-10 shrimp, tail-off and deveined
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 2 Bok choy leaves, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1/4 cup matchstick carrots
- 2 packs instant ramen, seasoning packet discarded
Instructions:
- Prepare the sauce by combining soy sauce, water, Chinese cooking wine, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, and cornstarch in a bowl. Set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, add vegetable oil. Cook the steak slices on each side until browned, approximately 1 minute per side. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- If needed, add a little more oil to the skillet. Add chopped bell pepper, sliced onion, Bok choy pieces, and matchstick carrots. Cook for a few minutes until the vegetables begin to soften and develop a slight char.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they form a “C” shape and turn pink, about 3 minutes.
- Return the cooked steak to the skillet. Pour the prepared sauce over the steak and vegetables. Allow the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Meanwhile, cook the instant ramen noodles according to package instructions. Discard the seasoning packets.
- Once the sauce has thickened, add the cooked ramen noodles to the skillet. Toss everything together until well combined.
- Serve the steak stir-fried ramen hot and enjoy!
