Ingredients:
- 10 oz thinly sliced steak
- 8-10 shrimp, tail-off, deveined
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 2 bok choy leaves, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1/4 cup matchstick carrots
- 2 packs instant ramen (seasoning packets discarded)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Sauce:
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, water, cornstarch, sugar, sesame oil, Chinese cooking wine, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Mix well and set aside.
- Cook the Steak and Shrimp:
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced steak and cook for about 1 minute on each side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Stir-Fry Vegetables:
If needed, add the remaining vegetable oil to the skillet. Add chopped bell pepper, sliced onion, bok choy pieces, and matchstick carrots. Stir-fry for a few minutes until vegetables are slightly charred and softened.
- Cook Shrimp:
Push the vegetables to the side of the skillet and add the shrimp. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until shrimp curl into a ‘C’ shape and turn pink.
- Combine and Finish:
Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the vegetables and shrimp. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture. Stir well and allow the sauce to thicken, coating the ingredients evenly.
- Add Ramen Noodles:
Meanwhile, cook the instant ramen noodles according to package instructions. Drain and discard the seasoning packets. Add the cooked ramen noodles to the skillet with the steak and vegetables. Toss everything together until noodles are well coated with the sauce.
- Serve:
Serve immediately while hot. Enjoy your delicious steak stir-fried ramen!
