Reindeer Cupcakes: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe for the Holidays

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup chocolate frosting
  • Mini pretzels (for antlers)
  • Red candy (like M&Ms) for the nose
  • Candy eyes (available at baking supply stores)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. In another bowl, mix the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
  7. Place the cupcake pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, use chocolate frosting to generously frost the tops of each cupcake.
  10. Add two mini pretzels to each cupcake for antlers. Place a red candy for the nose and two candy eyes to create the reindeer face.
