Savory Beef Tips Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs beef tips or stew meat
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine (optional; can substitute additional beef broth)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup water
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
- Add beef tips and sear until browned on all sides, approximately 5-7 minutes. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in beef broth, red wine (if using), Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, and dried rosemary. Bring mixture to a boil.
- Return beef tips to skillet, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until beef is tender.
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour and water until smooth. Gradually stir mixture into skillet to thicken gravy.
- Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until gravy has thickened to desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
