Savory Sausage Green Bean Potato Casserole – A Must-Try Delight!
Ingredients:
- 1½ lbs of sausage (kielbasa or smoked), sliced ¼” thick
- 2 lbs baby creamer potatoes, washed and halved
- 2 15 oz cans of green beans, drained
- ⅛ cup vegetable oil
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 cup onions, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Slap Ya Mama®️ seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp pepper
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
- ¼ cup water
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and generously coat a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
- Wash the creamer potatoes, halve them, and place them in a sealable gallon-sized bag.
- Add vegetable oil, seasonings, pepper, and red pepper flakes to the bag. Seal and shake until the potatoes are evenly coated.
- In a large frying pan, cook the sausage over medium-high heat with ¼ cup of water until browned and most of the water has evaporated.
- Remove the sausage from the pan and let it cool slightly before adding it to the bag with the potatoes.
- Melt the butter in the same frying pan and sauté the onions and garlic until translucent. Let them cool for a few minutes before adding them to the bag. Seal and shake to mix.
- Add the drained green beans to the bag, seal, and shake once more to ensure everything is well combined.
- Empty the contents of the bag into the prepared baking dish, spreading them out evenly.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
- Carefully remove from the oven, uncover, and serve up this delicious casserole to enjoy its savory goodness!
